Who is Winston?
Winston Brown is the character and identity of the AI legal assistant being developed with A de Bruyn Attorneys. He represents a practical workspace for matter information, document preparation and the wider legal workflow. The working foundation currently focuses on structured matter capture and template-based Word documents.
Does Winston replace legal judgement?
Legal judgement remains with your team. Winston helps organise matter information and prepare editable documents from controlled templates. A legal professional must review the facts, wording and requirements before using or filing a document.
Can we use our own Word templates?
The workbench is built around existing Word documents. Managers can connect fields, manage template versions and control publication. Generated documents remain editable DOCX files for professional review. Each legal template must still complete its own review and approval.
What will the accounts module cover?
Today’s foundation connects creditor accounts to matters and restricts legal fee information to managers. Fee-received tracking and allocation form part of the wider roadmap. Winston is not currently presented as a full bookkeeping, invoicing or trust-accounting system.
Where will the application live?
The application’s designated home is app.winstonlaw.co.za. This public website introduces Winston and the platform vision; application access will follow the firm’s rollout.
Will Winston send messages to clients?
The planned workflow tracks follow-ups and due dates. Staff remain responsible for sending communication through their usual channels. Winston does not send email, SMS or WhatsApp messages from the platform.
